VELUDO started as VELUDO ELETRICO; they're Brasilian band formed in '74 and disbanded in '78. They have no official releases save for the live recording 'Ao Vivo' from 1975. Later, they regrouped around 2000 and released a new CD, named "A Re-Volta", in 2002.The sound of VELUDO could be described as a progressive rock with heavy tendencies and predominant organ, but also elements of symphonic prog and krautrock. However a Brasilian prog momentum is also present, since one can here OS MUTANTES influences. The original band members were Nelsinho Laranjeiras on bass, Elias Mizrahi on keyboards (he suggested the band's name to be shortened), Paul de Castro on guitar and Gustavo Schroeter on drums. URGENT DEPORTMENT ABOUT THE REAL STORY OF MY BAND THERE I HAVE TO SAY! ATTENTION PLEASE! Reading the text writhen hear of the VELUDO history, I found a big mistake there you should has to know exactly the true of how and who in fact work so hard just to create an special musical group, bringing to the world a great new style of songs. Since we step in the stage our first concert. Me, Elias Mizrahi with my guitar hero, Paul de Castro. (unhappiness pasted away), together builded that band to eternize. An other information is that me and him there did compose the hall songs of this cd alive. No any other name did participate on those compositions. Clear? And only after we complete the form of the repertory there we went back to invite the others players to capable to play 2 hrs and half of pure prog rock, we was offering plenty of pation on it, to them us a gift. Gustavo Schroeter on drum and "PEDRO JAGUARIPE", (GOT YOU) on bass. And than this is the the only thing to adjust in your wrong publication putting the name of Nelson Laranjeiras there not made part of the band in the beginning. So, make justice with who deserve , being fair and responsible with your and our public, ok? thank you very much.
